Compulsory Basic Training

Our CBT course is comprehensive and doesn't cut corners. Safety will always be our main concern, but for riders aged 16 and over, this is the first, fun step to becoming a motorcyclist!

The CBT course day price is £130 inclusive of bike and gear, or £115 if you provide your own motorcycle, which must be legal to ride, taxed, insured and MOT'd.

Our courses in Daventry begin at 09:00 and typically go on for between a maximum of six and seven hours. If further training is needed to reach required safety standards, or because you simply feel like you could benefit from further time, extra training is always available for a small additional cost.

CBT courses at our site in Rugby also begin at 09:00. For location information, click here.
What do I need to bring with me?

In order to begin training with us on the day, you need to your photocard driving licence, and be wearing suitable protective gear, which at a minimum must consist of Jeans, some type of boots (without steel toe-caps), layers of warm clothing and preferably a pair of motorcycle gloves - a great value first investment!

We recommend you study the most recent highway code - enjoy the experience and test your friends!

We provide hot and cold drinks, but you must bring your own lunch.

The Course

Our CBT course structure is designed to allow you to get familiar with the motorcycle itself, understand all the relevant theory, practice all required manoeuvers and build confidence, ready for the road. We use a preselected test route, which allows you to demonstrate your skills on real roads and ride safely.
We never rush the development of our students: by developing at your own pace and overcoming your own difficulties you will be a safer and more confident rider.

In order to take the CBT course, you will need to ensure that you are over 16 years old, have a provisional motorcycle licence, both card and counterpart, or a full category B car licence, and have no restrictions to riding.
